As a category-leading KYC and client onboarding platform, NaviGuard can be used by accountable institutions of all sizes to improve their risk functions in conjunction with their client lifecycle management. The platform has been built by a group of subject matter experts with unparalleled experience in KYC technologies and operational delivery to some of the largest South African and international financial institutions.

Michael Roberts

Michael has an MSc in Financial Markets and Information Systems from Metropolitan University in London. He has  25+ years of experience in financial markets spanning Treasury, Risk, Trading and the development of FinTech and RegTech solutions. At his core, Michael is an Entrepreneur with a demonstrable track record of successful delivery. He is passionate about developing talent within the industry to ensure sustainability and empowerment across Africa.

Billy Evans

Billy is a qualified Chartered Accountant with +30 years of professional experience in Banking, Capital and Institutional markets, both local and international. He has accumulated deep and broad experience across financial management, end-to-end operations, centralized processing, outsourcing, change management and latterly AML and KYC. Success stemmed from the ability to traverse commercial, operational and technical boundaries, submersed in detail whenever required, in order to drive and execute strategy and operations. Commercial awareness, analytical thinking, pragmatism, effectiveness, efficiency, integrity, and teamwork, are the ingredients of his professional DNA.

Bernard Willer

Bernard has a Bcom in informatics and has been active in capital markets for the last 18 years. During this time he has been an equity and derivative trader, software developer and entrepreneur. He has a deep understanding of technology, and a wealth of financial knowledge to understand where and when to deploy certain strategies. In 2011 Sanlam Capital Markets acquired his company to establish a new derivative product distribution channel. Bernard is passionate about creating economic opportunities wider than just his immediate environment.

David Porter

David is a management consultant with 13 years of experience. He has a passion for customer service and pragmatic problem-solving. He has an Honours degree in Business Science from the University of Cape Town and an MBA from the University of Reading. After spending 7 years in consulting he moved on to one of Africa’s most prestigious investment banks to head up a team of business analysts focused on cost-saving measures across the institution. Since leaving banking, David spent 3 years fulfilling the role of Regional Programme Director at a global finance & risk data firm within their KYCaaS offering where he was instrumental in the establishment, business development and day-to-day management of a KYC Utility.
